We have wonderful photographs and illustrations to make them even more interesting – and we guarantee they will spark the curiosity of your children and grandchildren in nature, the environment and the world around them.

Each story is around 1,500 – 2,000 words, thoroughly researched and finished off with between 7 and 12 questions to encourage young readers to interact with the story. Lesley Dewar carefully chooses photographs to enhance the story and add to its appeal. If there is a reliable online source, she also includes direct links to other information on the internet.

Stories My Nana Tells encourages reading and learning in a family environment.  “I write stories for children aged 7-12 yrs that will spark their curiosity, entertain and educate them. I write about pets, travel, nature, unique and unusual things,” said Lesley Dewar. As a Nana, I write on a wide range of topics including haiku, travel, gardening, the internet and beyond. My stories are written to enjoyed as both entertainment and education, too.

Lesley Dewar is an Australian grandmother, an avid surfer of the net, a published writer and is constantly travelling, browsing, researching and uncovering the unusual. She has been bungy jumping in New Zealand; flown in helicopters across icy mountains and rocky deserts; trekked across a volcano crater, been white water rafting in Bali and swimming with dolphins in Hawaii.
