We are part of your community.
The heart of Stories My Nana Tells lies within our love of our community. Lesley Dewar actively engages with conservation groups and environmental actions, in support of our endangered, native wildlife. Part of the proceeds of sales of Hey Dude! Who Moved My Gumnuts? raises funds for endangered black cockatoos in the South West of WA.
Lesley Dewar campaigns, supports, educates, and does fundraising in support of threatened wildlife.
She supports calls for logging to cease in high value old timber forests, to ensure safe habitat for birds and terrestrials alike.
We participate in community events.
Lesley Dewar is not too shy to dress up for Book Week. She supports local fundraising through Quiz Nights, with donations and being part of the fun. We are donating our stories and books to local school libraries. Through Stories My Nana Tells, we promote and participate in local story reading events. By using the community activity of rock painting, Grrk The Motorbike Frog is a key fundraising story for wildlife rescue and schools.
We have a unique style of story telling.
Lesley writes and presents her stories in a style that appeals directly to most kids with sensory issues, by being highly visual and using the right language.
By including the names of brothers and sisters, and best friends, in the same story, children enjoy a new sense of bonding with their siblings.
We are a fun experience.
Our stories make reading and listening enjoyable, instead of a dreaded task for young readers. Brothers and sisters get great joy out of sharing their stories with their siblings.
Our Stories Will Engage Your Child
We use their imagination, give them facts and encourage them to visualise unknown outcomes, by using a little magic.
Lesley will put them IN the story and have adventures, with a guaranteed safe return home.
