The top 50 Grandparent blogs on the planet, as ranked by Feedburner, includes Nana’s Blog from Stories My Nana Tells at number 26. What an honour. We certainly have something to aim for: Let’s get better.
Grandparents are family.
Grandparents are the parents of a person’s father or mother – paternal or maternal. The various words for grandparents at times may also be used to refer to any elderly person, especially the terms gramps, granny, grandfather, grandmother, nan, nana and others which families make up themselves.
In our family, we adopted the word “Nono” for my own father, “Bluey” Nancarrow, and he is my hero. It’s a flow on from the days when my Mum was learning to speak Italian.
My beloved Robbie was always Growly Granddad or “GG” and we still use these terms with the grandchildren, today.
