Rock Stacking is Environmental Graffiti
Rock stacking might appear to be a harmless and fun outdoor activity, but it’s still detrimental to fragile riparian ecosystems.
I saw this article today, and it brought to mind the dream I had last night / early this morning.
In a garden, there was one snake hiding in some greenery, and about 17 skinks and geckos. There was one medium size rock and several skinks were squeezing on to it, to get some warmth from the sun.
Who owned that garden, I do not know, but I kept telling them –
“Stop Taking The Rocks Away.”
Especially the flat ones. Skinks and geckos need them to live, and for shelter.
Rocks and stones are key parts of our wildlife’s home and shelter. Please leave them alone. Consider who may need to hide there, later today.
This is equally important in areas of water. Lakes, rivers, and ponds.
